On Sunday 17th March 2002 at 7pm in Arundel Cathedral the choir will give their Queen`s Jubilee Concert performing undoubtedly the best known oratorio in the choral society repertoire - Handel`s 'Messiah'. Written during the reign of the second Hanover monarch George II it is particularly appropriate our freinds from Kantorei Marienfelde in Berlin will be joining us for this performance making the choir over 150 voices singing this great work accompanied by the Sinfonia of Arun. Soloists -Shelly Everall soprano; Jennifer Higgins- contralto; Andrew Carwood- tennor; and Christopher Foster Bass- Baritone. |

In 1996 the Society commenced a policy of giving a concert for a charity prior to its summer recess and from 1996 to 2001 over £35,000 has been raised for local and National Charities. On 18th May 2002 the benifititing Charity will be the NSPCC and the society will be joined in Arundel Cathedral by the West Sussex Youth Orchestra who celebrate in 2002 the 40th Anniversary of its foundation. The programme will consist of well known works with individual contributions from the orchestra and choir together with combined performances of popular operatic choruses and familiar items. The MC will be Mr. Simon Brett.

| On Sunday 13th October 2002 the celebratory tone will be continued with a performance of
Bruckner`s Mass in E Minor and staying in a romantic vein with a performance of Mendelssohn`s Hymn of Praise. Soloist
Tenor- Jon English and soprano - Brigit Rohowsky.

Looking Ahead to 2003 the choir is scheduled to perform in Arundel Cathedral on 23rd March 2003 Messe di Gloria (Puccini) and the music makers (Elgar). 12th October 2003 Mass in B Minor (Bach). |
